Mouretsu Pirates is an entertaining adventure anime series about space pirates. Its main weakness is a lack of real drama. The pirates do not commit any actual piracy, the bad guys are not so bad, and the space battles are almost bloodless.
The series’ strength is that it goes against the typical shounen style. The protagonist, Katou Marika, is female, smart, and decisive. In fact, almost all the characters are female and all the male character are adults. My favourite secondary character is Coorie.
The producers must be commended for avoiding the easy and obvious fanservice of having miniskirt-wearing teens in zero gravity, much to the disappointed of an the male teen viewers, I’m sure. ;)
Black Rock Shooter is awesome. Eight episodes packed with action, anger and angst. Almost nothing is explained but the story is actually very simple: growing up is hard.
Steins;Gate OP
OP from the very disturbing and gory Deadman Wonderland.
Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko OP is both annoying and addictive. Don’t blame me if you are earwormed.
